Ravenwood after

From compost heap to copse

Welcome to our very first blog post, just at the tail end of the decade! Well its been a bit of a whirlwind year here at Ravenwood. It seems odd to think that just a year ago the copse was just a compost heap and the book was just an idea but here we are with three storybook houses, 10 fluffy enchanted chickens and a published book, ‘Tallulah and the runaway prince’ available on Amazon!

There’s still so much to do though and we aren’t resting on our laurels just yet. The girls are a real delight and each of them has her own little personality. Oddly enough, Olive and Mavis are very much like their characters in the book and Tallulah is something of a reluctant star. The new swing next to fluffletree cottage is starting to attract a little more interest and Mavis has even been spotted hopping on and off it. Tallulah, Mavis, Sylvia, Delores, Olive, Maude, Maris and Henrietta are extremely sociable and always investigate when little human visitors come. Lacey and Duchesse are a little more reserved at the moment, but then they are still finding their feet and have only been at Ravenwood a few days.

Corn is definitely going down well and Henrietta, especially, enjoys her afternoon treat when mr human comes to see her and none of them seem to mind the noise when mr human is banging about finishing off the last bits and bobs. The fairy builders are a little quieter though and they seem to have completed fairy heights hotel very quickly, but more about that in another post.

The girls are all now going off to bed on their own. They all know which house is theirs, so it is just a case of locking them in safely and saying night- night

I visited this amazingly cute little place with my son who adored the chickens and their houses.
It’s beautiful and the pub is quaint with lovely little cosy areas to grab a coffee or have something to eat.
Definitely be back again. And again, and again 👍🏼😊
